Child Abuse: Resources and Support in Massachusetts

Welcome to the Brookfield Board of Health's Child Abuse Resources page. Child abuse is a critical issue that can have long-lasting effects on a child's physical and emotional well-being. Our goal is to provide resources and support for children who are victims of abuse, as well as for those who are seeking to help protect and support these vulnerable individuals.

Understanding Child Abuse

Child abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and neglect. It is important to recognize the signs of abuse and take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of the child.

Reporting Child Abuse

If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, it is crucial to report your concerns immediately. Do not assume that someone else will take action. Your report can make a significant difference in the life of a child in need. In Massachusetts, you can contact the DCF hotline at 1-800-792-5200 to make a report. You can also contact Brookfield Police by calling 9-1-1 if you believe a child is in immediate danger.   The Brookfield Police Dispatch Phone Number is: (508) 867-1170

Remember, you do not need to have proof of abuse to make a report. If you have reasonable cause to believe that a child is being harmed, it is your responsibility to report it. By doing so, you can help ensure that the child receives the protection and support they need.

Remember: Every Child Deserves a Safe and Nurturing Environment

Child abuse is a serious issue that requires immediate attention and action. By providing resources and support, we can help protect children and ensure they have the opportunity to grow and thrive in a safe environment.
