Planning Board
The Planning Board is responsible for reviewing and approving land divisions and new subdivisions and for processing certain special permit applications and site plans for a variety of uses and activities. The Board’s operating guidelines are the Town of Brookfield Zoning By-laws and Subdivision Rules and Regulations, the state Zoning Act (Chapter 40A) and the state Subdivision Control Law (Chapter 41 Sections 81A to 81GG).
There are five members of the Board, each serving for a term of 5 years, with terms staggered so one seat is up for election each year. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of the Town Hall.
