Remote Meeting Guidelines and Procedures
Remote attendance at public meetings is governed by Massachusetts Open Meeting Law (OML), which aim to balance accessibility with transparency. Changes adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic significantly expanded these rules. Current law allows public bodies to hold meetings fully remotely or in hybrid formats and requires that the public be able to access proceedings in real time through technology such as livestreaming or teleconferencing. These temporary provisions have been repeatedly extended and are now authorized through June 30, 2027.
To improve the ability of Brookfield public bodies to host remote attendees at public meetings, we have generated the following space which contains guidelines and procedures associated with remote meetings.
