Volunteer Opportunity – Conservation Commission Member
The Brookfield Conservation Commission is currently seeking a dedicated and community-minded individual to fill an open seat on the Commission.
The Conservation Commission plays a vital role in protecting the natural resources of Brookfield, including wetlands, forests, and open spaces. The board is responsible for reviewing permit applications under the Wetlands Protection Act, advising on conservation matters, and helping to preserve the town’s environmental integrity for future generations.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has an interest in environmental conservation, natural resources, or land use planning
- Is willing to attend regular meetings and site visits
- Enjoys working collaboratively with other community members and stakeholders
- (Optional: Has experience in ecology, environmental science, planning, or related fields – not required)
Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to town, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on your local environment and community.
To apply:
Please submit a letter of interest to the Conservation Commission at conservation@brookfieldma.us and the Select Board at selectmen@brookfieldma.us
For more information about the Commission or its responsibilities, please visit the Brookfield Conservation Commision webpage or contact Steve Karrmann at conservation@brookfieldma.us.
Help us keep Brookfield green, thriving, and beautiful!
