Transfer station customers, please read this update regarding accepted payment methods, from the Town Clerk Michael Seery:

I am following up regarding the no cash situation at the transfer station. It is my understanding that people on social media are suggesting that this change in policy is because there were concerns that people were stealing money. That is definitely not the case at all! This was implemented due to the change of employees, and it was agreed that it was the perfect time to follow the auditors’ recommendations of no handling cash offsite of the Town Hall.

This is due to not having a secure facility to lock cash in while employees are working or after their shift ends during the weekend. We understand that this is an inconvenience for some, and we apologize for that. We are also looking into the possibility of a cash option at the town hall and a credit option at the Transfer Station. Thank you for your patience.
