Starting Monday, January 5th, the Brookfield Highway Department is performing a trial for treating roads with salt brine instead of rock salt.
Salt brine has several potential benefits including higher efficiency for pre-treating roads, lower overall salt usage, less environmental impact on our waterways, and long-term cost savings.
If this trial goes well, this treatment method will further improve our winter road treatment process!
